On-Farm Composting & Application Techniques with Catalyst BioAmendments

Join us for an on-farm compost build and educational workshop with Catalyst BioAmendments at Bluebird Farm in Nevada City. In this workshop, we will use food waste as a primary input and learn the nitrogen-to-carbon ratios that create an efficient composting pile. We will also cover spray and injection compost applications with examples and hands-on activities during the workshop.

Catalyst BioAmendments is a microbe-farming business and educational organization creating high-quality compost in Nevada County.

"We start with controlled ingredients to feed the soil food web that drives plant growth, health, and vigor. We regularly test our compost to ensure microbial life can be supported, and before we ship, we take samples."

For this class, please bring your own gloves, shovels, manure or compost forks, compost thermometer (if you have one!), etc. If you do not have your own compost turning tools, a few will be provided for participants to take turns.

There is a special opportunity for participants to enjoy a cold plunge and sauna after this workshop courtesy of The Woods Sauna! Tickets for the sauna can be purchased separately here.
